Quarterfinals Washington 38, Germantown 14 The Eagles cruised to a 32-0 lead as Ryan Gore (14-61) ran for two
early scores and then watched Marcus Kennedy set the tone with strong passing (5-for-9, 133) to Mike Van Allen (2-65, TD) and Kyle Bell (2-63). Deron Dungee and Brandon Scott had interceptions and Bell recovered a fumble. G-town's Jeffrey King posted 121 yards and a TD on 25 carries. Northeast 21, Dobbins 7 Chris Poindexter (19-121) and Darien "Party" Hardy (20-68) ran for
one score apiece and James Franklin hit Maurice Slaughter for a 53-yard TD. Hardy's tally came in the waning moments after Dobbins failed on fourth-and-10 from its 21. Mastbaum 12, Bok 6 (2 OTs) Chris DeShields was basically a one-man gang for the Panthers. He
rushed 22 times for 97 yards and both TDs, caught two passes for 83 yards and had 14 tackles (five for losses). Also, in OT No. 2, he blocked a 27-yard field goal attempt, then ran 3, 4 and 3 yards to end it. Mark Hansberry passed 8-for-14 for 159 yards. For Bok, Kevin Cheely ran 77 yards for a TD while Will McCall added an interception and 174 yards of rushing and receiving. Bartram 6, King 0 (OT) Hanif Long hit Chironn "Goober" Davis with a 13-yard scoring pass to
end the OT session. Davis rushed 20 times for 67 yards. King's Donald Jefferson (21-70) had similar numbers. Semifinals Doubleheader at Northeast Washington 22, Bartram 0 Maurice Bennett posted eight tackles, an interception and a
tone-setting fumble recovery; it came on the game's first scrimmage play and was followed three
plays later by Ryan Gore's 4-yard TD run. The other TDs came on another run by Gore and Marcus Kennedy's pass to Mike Van Allen. Northeast 24, Mastbaum 7 Chris Poindexter zoomed for 184 yards and two TDs on 29 carries and
Maurice Slaughter opened the scoring with a catch from James Franklin. Mastbaum's Chris DeShields rushed 15 times for 152 yards, raising his career total to exactly
3,000. Final At Northeast Washington 19, Northeast 10 Bobby Young recovered a fumble on Northeast's 6 to set up the game's first TD and made a 32-yard reception on third-and-19 to immediately precede the second, Maurice Bennett's 2-yard run with 4:20 left to put the Eagles ahead for good. The reception was Young's third of the season. His second, resulting in a 6-yard loss, had come one play earlier. Ryan Gore added the clinching TD on a 46-yard interception return. Kyle Bell snagged four passes for 80 yards in addition to making five tackles at safety. Northeast's Darien "Party" Hardy ran 18 times for 80 yards.

Red Division First Round Judge 10, Ryan 0 Justin O'Brien (31-153) accounted for all of the points with a
22-yard field goal, a 55-yard run and a PAT. Mike Eaton added 136 passing yards on 11-for-17
marksmanship. O'Hara 21, La Salle 6 With top rusher Anthony Heygood unavailable (concussion), Tom
"Screech" Convery picked a wonderful time to post career highs for catches (eight), yards
(106) and TDs (three, most in city postseason history). The QB was Colin Smith
(13-for-20, 184). Pat Gallagher managed 89 yards on 20 rushes. For La Salle, Joe F. Winning
passed 10-for-20 for 116 yards. Semifinals At Plymouth-Whitemarsh Bonner 28, Judge 7 A 7-7 tie was broken three plays after Joe Boland stole the ball and
returned it 18 yards to the Judge 7. Jason Smith (24-129) and Mike Stauffer ran for two TDs apiece;
Paul Kollhoff also topped 100 yards (18-105). Judge's score came on an 80-yard run by Justin O'Brien (20-147). He finished the season with 63.3 percent of Judge's
points (152 of 240). Taking away the two games he missed with a broken wrist, he scored 82.2 percent (152 of 185). Also, surrounding his injury, he scored 74
consecutive points (likely a city mark). At Northeast SJ Prep 35, O'Hara 6 The Hawks avenged a 35-10 defeat in the 2000 final in rousing
fashion. Vince Gallagher passed 11-for-12 for 180 yards and a TD apiece to Pete Chromiak (5-128) and Jim Lachman (3-37). Kyle Ambrogi rushed 17 times for 160 yards and two scores. Final Red Division At Northeast SJ Prep 31, Bonner 6 While often sharing one wideout spot, Pete Chromiak (3-84) and Jim Lachman (4-64) caught one TD apiece from Vince Gallagher (11-for-17, 189) as the Hawks (10-3) completed their all-the-way-back climb from an 0-3 start to the season. A close game was broken up in the final 3 minutes of the first half as Chromiak scored on a 71-yard bomb and Kyle Ambrogi (21-95) ran 4 yards for a TD, making it 21-0. Gallagher and Danny Jones had interceptions. Bonner ran 41 plays, and just five produced gains of more than 10 yards. Three occurred after the score was 24-0. Blue Division First Round McDevitt 35, West Catholic 0 Tariq Boston returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a score. The
Lancers' second score also came on a return: 28 yards with an interception by P.J. Chipman.
Demetrius "Meat" Oliver added 68 yards and two TDs on 16 carries. Neumann 33, Conwell-Egan 12 The Pirates rebounded nicely from a 17-0 defeat to the same opponent
one week earlier. Chris Scott-Peters ran 23 times for 105 yards and three TDs and added a fourth
on a pass from Ed Lego (5-for-10, 90). C-E's Steve Slaton ran 12 times for 72 yards and a
score. Semifinals At Plymouth-Whitemarsh Carroll 34, Neumann 13 The Patriots exploded for 27 points in the final 15:16. Pat Brochet
passed 6-for-15 for 117 yards and one score apiece to Evan Dittler and Chaz Scott. Maurice Stovall
scored on a 52-yard interception return while James Roderick added 134 yards and a TD
on 15 rushes. Neumann's Mark Meighan scored on a 64-yard fumble return. At Northeast Wood 10, McDevitt 7 The Vikings earned their first title appearance since 1980 as
Antonio Troisi uncorked a 49-yard run to set up a score and made a fumble recovery to wrap things up. Final At Northeast Carroll 28, Wood 7 Mike Malandra opened the game by returning the kickoff 91 yards for a TD, then turned over the heavy-duty work to 260-pound junior James Roderick (25-148, two TDs). Maurice Stovall added a TD catch and his 11th interception of the season; Jared O'Shea and Sean Ryan also made picks. Carroll (12-1) raised its two-year record to 25-1, with the only loss coming to Bonner, by 3-0. For Wood, burned by Carroll to the tune of 124-8 in the teams' previous two meetings (77-0 last year, 47-8 earlier in this season), down lineman Keary Packer made nine tackles.
