Quarterfinals Mastbaum 26, Frankford 7 Marc Baxter passed 6-for-13 for 134 yards and three TDs and made 13 tackles. Gary Fooks turned his two catches into 76 yards and two scores. Barry Williams rushed 21 times for 126 yards and a TD. Mastbaum had lost all 31 of its previous meetings with Frankford. Bok 28, Germantown 8 Greg Jones scored once on a rush and again on a fumble return and Lou Cirri passed for two TDs. Dobbins 28, West 15 Derrik Millhouse passed 6-for-7 for 124 yards and a TD while Marlon White (16-97, TD) and Jamal Smith (16-59, two TDs) handled the rushing. Washington 42, King 0 Ray Savage passed 7-for-9 for 148 yards and two TDs. The longest was a 66-yarder to Rick Hite. Semifinals Doubleheader at Northeast Mastbaum 36, Bok 0 Marc Baxter scored on a 100-yard interception return and a 51-yard fumble return and came within a whisker of converting another interception into an 89-yard TD return. He also ran 20 yards for a TD. Tony Harris made 13 tackles. Washington 30, Dobbins 12 A 71-yard run by Terrell Jones (5-111) was the longest of four TDs for
the Eagles, who went exclusively with subs after the first 18 minutes. Final At Northeast Mastbaum 28, Washington 26 Trailing 20-0, Washington roared to four TDs in slightly under 11 minutes to take a 26-20 lead with 8:50 left. Mastbaum's winning drive was highlighted by a 49-yard pass from running back Barry Williams to wideout Gary Fooks and capped by a 6-yard run by QB Marc Baxter. Fooks then snagged Baxter's conversion pass. Jamie Jacobs made seven tackles during Washington's final drive, halted when Danny Soto stopped Brian White for no gain on fourth-and-7 at Mastbaum's 20. Williams rushed 16 times for 97 yards and a TD. Baxter passed 7-for-16 for 83 yards and a TD to Uhuru "Joby" Hamiter. The title was Mastbaum's first in 43 years of PL membership. For Washington, Terrell Jones carried 16 times for 108 yards and two TDs. The teams combined for 603 yards total offense and 31 first downs.

McDevitt was held to four first downs and 2-for-18 passing. Ryan 14, Judge 7 Mark Ostaszewski carried 31 times for 156 yards and two TDs, including the game-winner on a four-yard run with 0:13 left. O'Hara 7, St. James 6 After QB Scott Green rolled right to score from the 2 with 0:18 left, St. James tried the same play on the conversion. Ian MacNamara, Bob Gibbons and Chris Ardizzi combined to stop Green inches short of the goal line. Carroll 21, West 3 Vic Ameye passed 8-for-12 for 141 yards and a TD to Sean McGarvey (3-43). Semifinals At Northeast Ryan 17, La Salle 0 Pat Joyce made eight tackles and caused two fumbles. Tim Gasiewski recovered a fumble for a TD. At Radnor Carroll 17, O'Hara 7 Russ Kingsbury rushed 25 times for 75 yards and a TD and Mike Liney paced the defense with two interceptions and three deflections. Final At Villanova Stadium Ryan 20, Carroll 13 (OT) Jamie Sutton passed 15 yards to Jim Stott for the decisive score as Ryan won the first CL title game to go overtime. Brian Hamill kicked field goals of 32 and 39 yards, setting a one-season, city-league record with 11 (in 16 attempts). Mark Ostaszewski rushed 35 times for 130 yards. For Carroll, Sean McGarvey returned a kickoff 86 yards for a TD and star lineman Ray Kane, forced to sit out with a severe knee injury, was presented a game ball by first-year Ryan coach Glen Galeone.

Bill Gallagher, son of coach Bill Gallagher, made 12 tackles
(three for losses) as the visiting Quakers defeated GA, 6-0, to
complete their first perfect season (7-0-0) since 1967. Gallagher
and John Merritt combined for a no-gain tackle at PC's 26 as
the game ended. PC's score was an all-freshmen deal -- Mike
Samuel's 19-yard pass to Brandon Shepherdson. Episcopal
went 3-1-0 for second.
