digits while Joe Washington dished six assists. Lonnie McFarlan scored 14 points for Roman, which opted to hold the ball when
faced with a four-point deficit with 3:04 left in the third quarter.

Albert “Truck” Butts had 24 points and 15 rebounds. Dallas
Philson added 18 points and seven assists. Olney’s Gregg olmes scored 24 points.
QUARTERFINALS Overbrook 76, Frankford 42
Ricky Tucker shot 10-for-13 for 20 points and dished seven assists. Tony
Costner added 13 points, 20 rebounds. Frankford’s Steve Black scored 14 points.
West 55, Southern 53
Jim Moore totaled 20 points and 11 rebounds and converted a one-and-one
for a 55-51 lead with 0:15 left. Kevin “Rock” McCray added 16 points. Southern’s
Albert “Truck” Butts had 12 points, 20 rebounds.
Franklin 61, Gratz 54
Vaughn Taylor matched 14 points with 14 rebounds. Kevin Taylor (no
relation) hit a jumper to break a 53-53 tie. Gratz’s Joe Brown had 12 points, 13
boards.
Dobbins 71, Central 65
Double-teamed throughout, Horace Owens still managed 18 points and 11 rebounds
and received help from Leon Jones (22 points) and Harry Barnes (11 points, 10 assists).
Calvin Dixon (21) led Central.

Ricky Tucker contributed 21 points and seven assists while Joe Washington
(17) and Jeffrey Tucker (13, no relation) helped out in scoring. Leon Jones (21) and
Horace Owens (18) led Dobbins.
Franklin 66, West 62
Tony “Ice” Ingram sniped 12-for-14 for 26 points as Franklin
stunned the five-time defending champions, ending their streak of 16 consecutive PL
playoff victories. Vaughn Coats finished 12-for-16 for 24 points, adding 11 rebounds. Phil
Burton had nine points, 10 boards.

Ricky Tucker had 19 points and five assists and Jeffrey Tucker (no relation),
Richard Congo and Tony Costner claimed 16 rebounds apiece for the Panthers, who went 34-1
to set the city record for wins in a season. Franklin's Vaughn Taylor had 20 points and 10
rebounds.

‘‘Yosh’’ Siorek (16) and Mike Lally (13) divided 16 assists. Neumann’s
Marty Campbell had 32 points — a CL postseason mark — and 13 boards. West 61, O’Hara 52 Jeff Hunter, who’d missed much of the season with a broken foot, came off
the bench to contribute 22 points and nine rebounds. Sherman Kelly (13) and Paul Scott
(five assists) helped. O’Hara’s Pete Callahan had 25 points, 13 rebounds. Semifinals Doubleheader at the Palestra Ryan 57, Judge 51 Steve Senko shot 6-for-10 and 10-for-13 for 22 points as Ryan advanced to the
final for the first time in its 12-season CL history. Senko added three assists, six
steals and hit four free throws after Judge closed within 53-51 with 0:15 left. Ed Mostak
had 14 points. Joe Petrone (19) led Judge. Roman 44, West 39 Lonnie McFarlan posted 20 points and 13 rebounds for Roman, which regrouped
after missing 20 of its first 23 shots. Ralph Mack grabbed 12 rebounds. Sub Jeff Hunter
(14) led West. FINAL At the Palestra Roman 61, Ryan 47 Lonnie McFarlan collected 16 points, 11 boards and five assists for Roman,
which swept to a 44-25 edge in the second half. In his first extended playing time in a
meaningful game, sub Ray Gorham shot 6-for-8 and 3-for-3 for 15 points and grabbed seven
rebounds. Bob Filer (17) and Ed Mostak (12) led Ryan.

No. 8 and gave the Churchmen their first outright title since 1929. Charles Hickman shot
8-for-13 en route to 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Episcopal went to 10-0 in its
finale by dumping visiting Gtn. Academy, 70-47, as Hickman (17), Jeff Ochroch (15) and
Sean Perretta (13) led in scoring. Chestnut Hill finished second at 6-4.
