FIRST ROUND At Southern Bartram 65, Franklin 46 Earl Monroe scored 26 points. Irv Peacock (17) topped Franklin. West 54, Lincoln 37 Ken Morgan (11) led 11 West scorers. Joe Hindelang had 15 for Lincoln. SEMIFINALS Doubleheader at the Palestra Bartram 52, Overbrook 39 Unheralded sophomore Al Alston scored seven of his nine points in a 17-8
fourth quarter to spark Bartram, which was led by Earl Monroe (14) and Chris Kefalos (13).
Gil Smith had 17 points for βBrook. West 56, Edison 48 Sixth man Paul Jackson had all eight of his points and many key rebounds
as West controlled the second half. Deforia Coleman (16) and Frank Card (13) led in
scoring. John βMooseβ Jackson had 21 points for Edison. Star George Mack was
held to six. FINAL At Southern West 76, Bartram 73 Frank Card scored 24 points to lead the way. Ken Morgan (19), Deforia Coleman
(15) and Lou Gates (14) helped out. Gates went 10-for-10 at the line, with six coming in
the last quarter. West had been forced to forfeit two wins at mid-season for using an
ineligible player. Chris Kefalos (24), Earl Monroe (21) and Frank Kunze (18) paced
Bartram.

Ford 12) went 6:30 without a field goal in the third quarter to hurt its chances.

Matt Guokas (15) was the only Hawklet to score in double figures, but Eddie
Burke, Tom Duff and Bill McFadden added nine points apiece and sub Tom Macksey managed
seven. The Prep took control (46-33) with a 27-8 burst in the first 13 minutes of the
second half. The Hawklets were coached by the Rev. James H. Donahoe, who'd relieved Ed
"Dutch" Doyle (heart attack) early in the season.

registered a 60-49 win as Bill Soens led the way with 15 points, followed by Mike Aron
(13), Steve Cushmore and Lin Scarlett (11 each). Malvern, which received 13 points from
Dave Baxter and 12 from Bill McDonough, fell into a second-place tie with Episcopal at
9-3.
